Preparation for your surgery begins well before the day of your operation, and we will be with you every step of the way – from the day you book your surgery until the day of your operation – to make sure that you have everything you need to be confident during your stay with us.

At Ramsay Surgical Centre Orange we have formalised a simple Admission to Discharge (A to D) Plan specific to your procedure/operation, covering:

Preadmission is the first step, and an important part of your hospital care. This step includes completing a Patient Registration Form, a Health Questionnaire and a Consent Form. It’s important to submit these preadmission forms at least 7 days prior to your procedure. You can deliver them in person or by courier, scan and email, fax, or post. We will then review your details and medical history and get in touch if we require any additional information. If sending by post, please ensure you allow at least two weeks for postage. If using email or fax, please remember to bring the original forms with you on your admission to hospital.

We will notify you of your admission time by SMS or email on the business day before your procedure. If we do not have a mobile telephone number for you, we will telephone you on your landline. Pre-admission staff will call you on the working day prior to your admission to confirm your admission time & fasting times and any other details required.

It’s also important to bring an up-to-date list of your current medications with you for your hospital visit. You can obtain this from your General Practitioner or pharmacist.
