Dr Kong Chan (K.C.) Tang

Dr Tang is an Ophthalmologist with an interest in medical retinal diseases and particularly treatment of age-related macular degeneration and diabetic eye diseases. He is an experienced cataract surgeon and has an interest also in minimally invasive glaucoma surgery and paediatric squint surgery.

Dr Tang is an Opthakmologist who trained at the Sydney Eye Hospital and attended the Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital for his fellowship training in medical retina with Professor Lawrence Yannuzi. He returned to Orange in 1999 where he has worked in a private practice as well as at the Orange Health Service. 

Dr Tang has special interest in medical retinal diseases and particularly treatment of age-related macular degeneration and diabetic eye diseases. He is an experienced cataract surgeon and has an interest also in minimally invasive glaucoma surgery and paediatric squint surgery. 

He current practices at MidWest Ophthalmology, a well-equiped private Ophthalmology practice in Orange and has clinics at the Lithgow Community Private Medical Centre and the Forbes Medical Centre. He currently has appointment at Dudley Private Hospital in Orange and the Lithgow Community Private Hospital, as well as the Orange Health Service, Forbes Hospital and Lithgow Hospital in the public sector. The practice in Orange and Lithgow are well-equiped to perform a number of ophthalmic investigations and equipped for retinal laser treatment, minor operations and injection of intravitreal medication for macular degeneration and diabetes. 

Dr Tang is also involved with training of medical students from the Rural School University of Sydney in Orange, The Notre Dame University in Lithgow and students from Wollongong University at Forbes. He is a member of the Fiji Eye Project which continues to provide free cataract surgery to patients at Lautoka Hospital.
