Dudley Dragons

It was the 11th November and the cool wind was blowing across Lake Canobolas in Orange for the annual Central West Dragon Boat Regatta.

This did not dampen the enthusiasm of the 20 first time paddlers from Dudley Private Hospital.

The eclectic bunch had origins from all departments of the hospital including medical records, theatres, recovery, CSSD, front office, general ward and our Chief Executive Officer. Other staff members of the hospital came to offer cheers and encouragement.

The “Dudley Dragons” came third in both races but unfortunately did not make the finals despite significant improvements with each row.

Much fun was had by all as well as raising money for cancer research. We are hoping for a bigger and better next year with two Dudley Private Hospital boats taking to the water.
